Students will complete the following psychological study to satisfy the learning outcomes for the course.  A review of the Scientific Method (Chapter 1) would be helpful.  Students may work independently, with a partner or in a group (no more than four students).  The following instructions will help you begin.

Instructions

  1. Students will write an APA style paper reporting their findings.  The paper will include a literature review, methods, results and discussion section.  Students desiring to earn up-to-25 additional points will give an oral presentation of their project.

The literature review listed above will include a minimum of three (3) journal articles and report the summaries of each article in the paper.

  1. Select one of the following theoretical perspectives, psychoanalytic, behavioral, evolution, humanistic, cognitive, social cultural and use it to describe or explain why the group you studied thought or behaved the way they did.

Each student or group’s research question must be approved by Jim.
